Great frontload washer.
Excellent front load washer. Takes in a big load of clothes and does a great job of washing and cleaning. The clothes steam function is a great feature, especially for my work shirts. They come out virtually wrinkle free. The automatic dosing is also a game changer. Pretty set and forget. Very happy with my front load washer.

Auto Dosing Problem
Offers many functions and variations on cycles, however the biggest ongoing problem is the detergent/softener drawer which regulates the auto dosing. Even when you regularly clean the drawer it still clogs up and fills up with water some how ?? For probably the last 6 months or so now I’ve been using the manual dose top up at the back of the drawer and still it fills the detergent drawer with water even though it has no detergent in there. Auto dosing should be a good feature and was one of the primary reasons I bought the washer but has been problematic from the outset. I do like Fisher & Paykel as a reputable brand, but Auto dosing is a complete dud.

This machine is highly used to wash everyday clothes, towels, bulky and quick when in a hurry. The clothes come out clean. I follow the drum cleaning reminder and pump filter clean every 100 cycles and it runs like a dream. Never see any fluff on clothes. Occasionally we use the steam refresh which also refreshes delicates that are not dirty.
I also use the remote control to try and utilize the best time for solar power.
Highly recommend this washing machine.

Feature-Packed and Reliable
We’ve owned the Fisher & Paykel WH1100F2 11kg front load washing machine since mid-2022, and it’s been a workhorse for our household. With around 35 cycles in the past 30 days and 135 in the past 90 (thanks, SmartHQ app), it gets a serious workout—and handles it with ease.
What I like:
- Auto-dosing: This is hands down one of my favourite features. We top up the detergent about every 45 days, and it’s significantly reduced our overall detergent usage without compromising wash quality.
- Drum light: Makes it easy to check on the load mid-cycle and ensures nothing gets left behind.
- Pause and add: The add-garment function is super handy if something gets missed—no drama.
- Steam Refresh: The 20-minute steam cycle is great for lightly wrinkled shirts, just don’t overload it or the results aren’t as effective.
- Thoughtful control panel: I appreciate how the display offers simple instructions as you scroll through options—it’s user-friendly and well-designed.
- Drum clean reminder: A small but important feature to keep things running smoothly.
- Stacking kit: I use this with the matching dryer. The slide-out shelf is perfect when cleaning filters or folding clothes, though it could be deeper to better hold laundry baskets.
- SmartHQ + Sonos integration: Hearing “the wash cycle is complete. Your laundry is ready” through my Sonos speaker is surprisingly helpful and adds a nice modern touch.
What could be improved:
- SmartHQ limitations: Same as with our dryer—it works, but broader smart home integration like Matter or Apple HomeKit would be appreciated.
- Minor software glitch: For the past year or so, I’ve had a persistent message prompting me to close the door at the start of each cycle—even when it’s already closed. It’s a non-issue functionally, but feels like a bug that came with a firmware update.
